Originating in the early 1980s as a reaction to Reggae's increasing popularity, Jamaican Dancehall style initially presented DJs speaking over dub versions of existing tracks. Initial dancehall focused on local culture, party vibes, and usually contained politically charged lyrics. During the years, it started to incorporate faster beats, electron
